Is this guy developeable(is that a word )

I havent seen him play, so I was wondering if you guys could tell me if their is a chance he could actually develope as a QB, or if he is absolutly hopeless.

I know he sucked this year, but he was basicly a rookie, and was he injured his entire rookie year as well. Do you guys think he just doesnt have what it takes to be a good QB, or with the proper coaching (and Kiffen could give that to him) could he develope?

Keep in mind that last season everyone thoughy JP Losman was the worst QB in the history of mankind in what was basicly his rookie year. But he went on to have a good year this past season, almost leading a Bills team that was 3-13 the year prior to a .500 record. All the while completing 62% of his pass's with almost 20 TDs and an 85 QB Rating with a crappy group or WR's/TEs and not one HB that can catch a cold. Is it possible that with coaching Walters can have a decent season.

BTW: Im going to stop this before it starts. If your not a Raiders fan, or have knowledge of the Raiders, please move along. I dont want to hear from idiots that just want to pad their post count by posting some lame remark like "Walters sucks"

In all fairness to Andrew Walter, he got thrown into a very bad situation. With our pathetic o-line, even Joe Montana wouldn't have been able to help us. I believe Walter can be developed. The question is, are the Raiders (Al Davis) willing to gamble on him. He has the size and the arm to be a real good QB. His mobility is a question mark, but with a solid o-line to give him time to work, that can be overcomed. I think the Raiders are going to have to make a tough decision from here till April on whether to go with Walter as the QB of the future, or pick up a QB in the draft or via FA. Hard decisions coming up.

I agree with til death, Walters showed a lot of flashes of becoming a great QB he made alot of good throws when he wasnt under pressure. I think he got the jitters after suffering so many hits that he made alot of bad decisions. Especially in the red zone i dont know how bad his confidence got shaken but if he can get over it he could be as good as Matt Leinart or even Rivers. Its a big risk to pass up on jamarcus but there is a reason why they passed up Leinart. I tell you what he is no ryan leaf the kid has skills. But yes i think with the right system he can develop in to a good qb he has a really good arm i seen him make some throws this year and i asked myself how did he do that. but i also throws where he completely misses wide open receivers. Its a sit and wait kind of thing with him.

I should have known it would happen anyways, some people just cant help it.

But thanks for the info. I was curious about him, as most mocks have the Raiders taking a QB #1, but to me it just might make more since to build on the talent you have around a young QB, if you think that QB can develop. Lie we saw with Losman and Alex Smith this year, and Bree's and others before, you cant really thow a young QB away after just 1 bad season

And it doesnt help that Andrew Walter started his first game against the Ravens...But I have to say that Andrew Walter did pretty good against us and I thought he would be even better during the season...But yea Like TIL DEATH said it also doesnt help that he has a terrible O-LINE to work with...Even in the future if he DOES have a good O-LINE he still wont be that great but ok.
