Porter looking for new start
Quote:
ALAMEDA, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2007) -- Jerry Porter is ready for a new start with the Oakland Raiders.
After a difficult 2006 season when he clashed with coach Art Shell and rarely got on the field, Porter announced he is changing his uniform number from 84 to 81 in order to put last season behind him and get off on the right foot with new coach Lane Kiffin.
"For me the new number represents a new start, a new beginning and new attitude," he said in a statement released by the team. "I've had multiple meetings with Coach Kiffin and I am very excited about the direction of our team and especially our offense. I can't wait to get started."

Any idea's on how long this will last?

Well Porter is very talented player, and it's no secret the Raiders need him on the field. So they better hope it lasts all season.
Also since he is ready to play, is that a sign that Moss may be on the move?

Who knows. If only we could have had those two together on the field at the same time with the right mind frame........nevermind, strike that. I forgot that our o-line was still pathetic, so I don't think those 2 together on the field would have made a difference.

Personally i dont think he deserves to wear that number he cant fit in those shoes.I heard on the raider podcast that moss is definitely on his way out he met with kiffin, and all kiffin got were obscenities better now than during the season. F it get rid of that waste of talent. traded somewhere thats worse cleveland.

It's just what team is going to give anything decent for Moss? I think the Raiders will be stuck in the mess the Vikings were when they traded Daunte.

I think that Moss's problem in Oakland was that the Raiders were not winning. His attitude didn't help matters either. I honestly believe that the Raiders would have had a different Moss had he been with them from 2000 through 2003 when they were going deep in the playoffs. I think the Raiders can get something good for Moss. Maybe a different team will work for him.

well i just heard that both moss and porter are staying, it seems that they had a long talk with kiffin and are happy with the direction of the team. IMO who knows i want to see it first. I heard it on NFL Total Access from adam shefter.
