The Raiders re-signed veteran offensive tackle Chad Slaughter on Tuesday in a move that bolsters their offensive line depth.
Slaughter was an unrestricted free agent and free to field contract offers from any of the league's 32 teams.
Slaughter, 28, has spent the past five seasons with the Raiders. He is expected to compete for a backup spot once again. He started six of the 15 games in which he appeared last season.
In other news, the Green Bay Packers leadership met Tuesday to discuss team-related matters, including a potential trade for Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss.
Team officials briefly touched on the subject, but the meeting didn't do anything to fan the flames of a much-rumored deal.
In Tuesday's editions, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel quoted an unnamed league source as saying Packers general manager Ted Thompson already has spoken with Raiders managing general partner Al Davis about a potential trade for Moss.
The Journal-Sentinel added that talks have been ongoing for a month or so and that Davis gave the Packers permission to talk to Moss' agent, Tim DiPiero, about restructuring Moss' contract.
"They're going to get rid of him," the source said, according to the Journal-Sentinel. "I think they think they can trade him. And I know Green Bay has interest."
