Post Porter to pay $210,000

Quote:
ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -- When Jerry Porter switched his number this offseason, he said he was ready for a new start and a new attitude after feuding last season with former coach Art Shell.

That attitude change has a price, though, and Porter is not willing to pay it.

The Oakland Raiders receiver said Wednesday he would have to pay $210,000 to switch his uniform from No. 84 to 81 in order to reimburse the team and Reebok for the cost of the unsold jerseys.
the Raiders better watch out, Porter might decide to hold out if he has to pay that much money

Simple solution, just keep your jersey number and bump that new start.

The Raiders should retire that number. The great Tim Brown wore that.

He wont change now is my guess, and like others have said he doesnt deserve to wear it anyways.

Even though Tim Brown did say it was fine.

Damn right Chris. After Tim Brown, nobody should wear number 81.
