Raiders wide receiver Jerry Porter will play in a regular-season game for the first time this season today against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a person close to Porter said Saturday.
The person said Porter worked with the first-team offense from the time he rejoined the team Thursday after his four-game suspension was reduced to two and the Raiders reinstated him. Raiders coach Art Shell suspended Porter on Oct. 14 for conduct detrimental to the team.
Shell deactivated Porter for each of Oakland's first four games. Porter missed the team's past two games because of his suspension. The person close to Porter said he expects Randy Moss and Porter to be the starting receivers today against the Steelers.
