Default Raiders 1st Round Outlook

the Raiders are at the mercy of the 3 teams that picked ahead of them.they could end up with a stud like Vernon Ghouston, Glenn Dorsey, Darren McFadden, or Chris Long. with the 4th overall pick they have the option of either staying put or trading it away to stockpile more picks. with Al Davis running the show its really hard to try to guess what direction they want to go in. they have so many holes that any pick here will help out the team.

Glenn Dorsey

The buzz: This explosive senior will give his club a dominant, versatile inside presence. His pro day (March 26) is vital to retain this ranking, as is his physical after a previous stress fracture in his leg was revealed at the Combine. That is the only chink in his armor.

Darren McFadden

The buzz: This fast junior has the skill set to make an impact early as a professional starter. McFadden had a monster workout in Indianapolis to solidify his No. 1 status.

Chris Long

The buzz: A relentless performer, Long has the total package and is coming off a dominant senior season. He turned in a tremendous workout at the NFL Combine.

Vernon Ghouston

The buzz: This athletic junior defender is a force from the outside where he has played both up and down over his short college career. He was one of the stars of the NFL Combine with a monster overall effort.

Jake Long

The buzz: Long is a physical player who has the skills and experience to start as an NFL rookie. He solidified the No. 1 rating in this tackle class with a strong workout at the NFL Combine.

Sedrick Ellis

The buzz: A powerful senior tackle, Ellis is a disruptive inside force and will be highly coveted in April. He combined great weeks at the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine to move into the top five selections

I read they were licking their chops for McFadden.

i think they will take McFadden if he is there, that gives them a franchise QB and RB in back to back drafts, the defense is fine, if they nab McFadden they are gonna have to shore up that offensive line

Just exactly what holes do the Raiders have to fill?

So many holes?

Where?

All I can see is the D line and maybe another O lineman.

Where are all these holes that you speak of?

Am I in a time warp?

Is this 2006 and I dont know it?

Where have some of you been?

ehhh they could use a feature back like McFadden, the O-line sucks, they need D-line help, Javon Walker is not the answer at WR, 1 more LB to complement Howard and Morrison, backup to JaMarcus Russell, FB, TE. are you watching the Raiders? are you the one in the time warp? they havent had a winning season in about 6 years, its not like they are coming off a SuperBowl, they are picking #4 overall for a reason.

Where are the holes? Hmmm

Unproven QB and nothing behind him
Who is the RB? They give a bunch of money to Fargas, rework Rhodes to bring him back, they have Bush, and then the morons will probably draft McFadden because of Davis' obsession with speed?
You drafted a $hitty tackle that can only play guard.
They gave up 41 sacks last year, not so good

Tackles Harris and Green got a ton of money too, You are ok with that??? LOL

They got a 2nd rate CB to play exactly what he is a 2nd CB, but they gave him the highest contract ever for a CB, that makes no sense.

Gibril wilson was a good signing, but certainly has his own ??'s.

The coach and the owner pretty much hate each other. Remember Davis was trying to get him to resign and dude said no.

You are blind if think that the Raiders are in a place where they can go BPA, they have needs and major ones.

I didn't even get into the Dline and in a league where edge rushers are huge they let Clemons (8 sacks) walk away, HUH???

We need a TE?

More RBs too?

A FB?

We have depth at LB, secondary, offensive backfield, and we have 2 quality FBs.

What are you talking about? wheres it written that you need a feature back to be effective? Drafting McFadden would be ultra stupid since we dont have a need at RB. I expect to see Al move fabian washington and our #4 pick to trade down but dont overstate our needs. We just resigned sam Williams and we have Robert Thomas so we dont need any LBs.

But what do you cite as evidence that javon Walker isnt the answer? and what do you mean by THE answer?

We lost 7 games by a grand total of 35 points last year with the #32 rated run defense.

You do the math.

We need more help on the D line, and another O lineman.

As far as I know, Andrew Walter hasnt gone anywhere.

35 points isnt that insurmountable to overcome to win 7 more games.

You have completely overstated our needs and show a lack of insight on the team if you actually think we need another FB and Mcfadden.

Lame.

Its Davis who is the one captivated by speed and will feel overcome with emotion to draft him.
