Default Huntington Heroes Sign Five More

The Huntington Heroes of the AIFA are excited to announce that they have signed five more players. Frank Hill, Cleveland Williams, Jose Haywood, Odell Willis and Justin White recently agreed to come to Huntington in pursuit of an AIFA Championship

"Frank Hill has all the tools, all of them", Coach Kenny Johnson said after signing Hill. At 6'5 220lbs, he has the gift of size, but he also brings speed and pure athletic ability. In addition to having size and speed, Frank is versatile, having played quarterback and wide receiver. "I am so excited to have Frank here in Huntington, he is a great kid, he is a true athlete, and on a roster he gives you two positions. He didn't get the chance to play college ball, but that has not stopped him from playing, he has been playing semi pro and played in Springfield with the Stallions last year. He has things that we will be working on, but you can't teach his size and you can coach the want that he has." Coach Johnson added "Frank's recruiting film that he sent to me was outside in Chicago in the snow, working quarterback and wide receiver drills, to me that is somebody who wants to play and wants to move up".

Cleveland Williams (6'4 315, Offensive Line) comes to Huntington from Lagrange, NC, where he played his college ball at Winston Salem State. He brings size and power to the offensive line. "Cleveland is a great run blocker, but he also loves the challenge at tackle of being out on that island, he has good footwork and good hands" said Offensive Coordinator Kenny Johnson said.

Jose Haywood (6'0 320, Offensive/Defensive Line) will bring his size and power to Huntington this year. Haywood played at Georgia Military College and has since been playing in Georgia for the Georgia Lions and the Georgia Rage minor league football teams. In 2006, Jose was invited to the Georgia Force's (Arena Football League) mini camp. "Jose is another big guy that can move, he has a lot of versatility and he can play both sides of the ball" added Coach Johnson.

Odell Willis (6'2 235, LineBacker) is a tremendous athlete who had an outstanding college career at West Alabama. Willis had many standout games at West Alabama, but one in particular in 2005, against Valdosta State, he recorded 6 sacks and a forced fumble. Odell's pro experience includes a stint with the Spokane Shock (AF2). "He has great size and speed, but he also makes plays, he is great asset to this team and this defense," said defensive coordinator Charles Gunnings.

Also coming to the Heroes from the state of Alabama is fullback Justin White (6'2 260). Justin played his college ball at Miles College. "Justin's strength is blocking, but he can run the rock too. I think he makes a great addition to Wilmont Perry, and Wilmont's experience will really bring him along quickly" said Coach Johnson.

"When I say that we have been fortunate to get the guys that we have, that might be a huge understatement. We have all the pieces coming together, but once they get here, that will tell the story. We, as a team, must come in and gel together and the rest will take care of itself," said Head Coach Teddy Keaton.
