Eagles sign DT Jasper to one-year contract

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - Ed Jasper is back with his original team.

The veteran defensive tackle signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.

Jasper, 33, was a sixth-round pick of the Eagles in 1997 and played his first two seasons with them. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 1999 and started against the Eagles in the 2004 NFC championship game.

Last season, Jasper played in 12 games with the Oakland Raiders and recorded 24 tackles and two sacks.

Jasper will try to get involved in the Eagles' rotation at defensive tackle, which features Hollis Thomas, Sam Rayburn, Darwin Walker and Mike Patterson.

yeah they took mike patterson from USC, He did alright in his rookie year with 3.5 sacks and I definitely expect him to get better.
