I don't profess to being an Eagles fan or anything close to it, but I watched several of their games last year and LBs were not the problem. The problem was the LBs were getting blocked by offensive lineman because they dominated the defensive line with little trouble. No LB in the league can consistantly succeed if that is happening. Bunkley should help alleviate some of that, as should Howard. The biggest thing will be getting Kearse and Howard to play consistantly good ball, as neither has done that the last few years. You can't just run Freeney style every play, they need to help against the run for the Eagles to be a dominate defense again.

that's exactly what I was saying above Nole. Now that they have bulked up in the trenches, patterson has another year, darwin is healthy and they have bunkley along with howard on the other side of Kearse. Those LB's should shine.

Your LB's do the majority of the tackling,not the DL.If your DB's have the highest tackling stats your defense is in trouble.and if LB's can't aviod or shake off blocks from OL then that's a LB problem nole.the majority of the eagle empire have the opinion that as far as our D goes the LB corps is the weakest on it.

No question about it IMO, the LBers are a good group but bad when compared to the DL and DB's.

if the DL is not ablt to do thier jopbs and push the oline back then the LB's suffer especially against the run, too often our dline was beat and the oline was penetrating to the second level and our LB's had to fight through multiple blockers to make the tackles. That won't be happening this year as long as people stay healthy.
