I think Detmer is expendable. I know he holds kicks, but IDK if that is going to guarentee him a roster spot
detmer isnt on the roster he is a free agent and unless he gets a deal which he wont he will be gone the eagles cut him and picked him up just before the playoffs started to hold kicks and i would love to see troy smith on our roster i could see him become a good quaterback and mcnabb isnt getting any younger i would only want him if hes available in the second round not the first

Same. Just that, we will need to draft some defensive players this year, around the Safety area, after losing Michael Lewis, and the LB unit. The Eagles LB unit is old.
Old? McCoy and Gaither were only recently drafted. Trotter hasn't hit 30. Neither has Captain Banjo. Doesn't mean the Eagles shouldn't look to replace Trotter (only a two down player now) or D Jones. But they're not old.
Troy Smith is okay, but backup QB is not a need for the Eagles. I look at first day picks as "need" picks and second day as "development" picks. My opinion, of course.
I didn't say we have to replace Trotter or Dhani Jones, we just need to draft young LB's that will be the future of this Philly LB core. Trotter is heading into his 10th season..not saying we should replace him, but we'll need a MLB who's willing to take over Trotter's spot, when the time comes.
They also drafted Chris Gocong last year. He was IR'ed so that he could heal fully and learn the system. They have draft 4 LB's in the last two years, so Old is not a term I would use for the LB corp. Trotter can help the young guys grow. I DO NOT WANT TROY SMITH, I WOULD RATHER THEM DRAFT Trent Edwards from Stanford later if they really wanted a QB, even with his awful injury history.
