Eagles 2006 Draft Review
Philadelphia Eagles
The Good: 5th round pick Omar Gaither was able to handle some starting duties during the season a real find.
The Bad: Bunkley has the look of a bust if he does not turn it around this year.
The Ugly: Justice, Gocong, Jean-Gills, and Bloom for one reason or another wear not able to make it into any games. Gocong and Bloom because of injuries.
Overall: They did not get much from this draft this year and most are expected to only add depth next. This is the kind of draft you expect from a team that loaded with players already. Grade B+

He gave the Eagles the highest grade in the NFC... Unless you're die hard
it's not very difficult to drop the biases when you look at rivals.

I understand that he gave them the highest, I just think that he is being a bit short sighted in regards to some of the picks, he talks about how the EAGLES draft for the future and then talks about how the players didn't play (that's because their for the future). I just have a more optomistic view of the picks and beleive that an A- is more applicable.

Short sightedness is all their is to go on with any DP from last year. Either thay played well or they didnt. You cant really tell who the bust are for another 2,3,4 years.

MY point was that he said that they did a good thing by drafting for the future and then bases them on one season, it is a contradictory statement. that's all I was saying. JMO

Depth. Thats were the Eagles made their money in last years draft. Gaither is a nice starter. Considine, we will probobly find out more about this year, Gocong, we will probobly find out something. But the positive that came out of this draft for Philly was depth, particualry the O-Line.
I think thats also kinda in line with what Manster was saying.

If that is the case then I misread his statements.

This post should explain alot of what I was thinking.

I gave them credit for drafting for the future and thought they had one of the better draft. The play of Bunkley hurt because he was the 16th pick in the draft and should have been able to play better. The commit

The reason that is in there is because your 2nd, 3rd and 4th round draft picks were not able to get into any game at all, not as a sub for a garbage time or even on special teams or something to just them some time in a real game.
