If the Eagles go after Zach Miller, they will not take him in the 1st round unless they trade down.

New England picks 2 picks before the EAGLES at 24 and again at 28. I only brought up zach miller as a possible second round pick, if they fail to draft olsen in the first

I dont see the eagles going with a Saftey in the first after drafting Considine last year. I think if they go DB, it will probobly be a corner, most likly McCauley, Houston or Wright.

Considine played well but he is not going to be the replacement for dawkins, once his days are through. Merriweather is a strong player that can be groomed by dawkins and can play the run and pass and can even play corner if needed, I think that if they don't get Griffen, merriweather would be a great pick, he was a possible top 15 pick before some minor character issues dropped him. I think he would be a great pick and the EAGLES definitely value DB's higher than other positions.

But do they value Safteys high enough to take a saftey that high to develope to take over for a player that may still play 2 or 3 year. Saftey doesnt have the same worth as a position like CB, CB is a MUCHmore of a premium position. If they are thinking about grooming a guy behind Dawkins, they would be smart to look in the middle rounds, that has always been where the value is at Saftey. I have never been a big fan of Safteys in round one unless it is an absolutly necessary immediate need.

Personally I want Olsen, I just feel like they are going to take Griffen or Merriweather.

Another thing about Merriweather bieng groomed for Dawkins spot ( And again, I just posted this in the other thread) is that Merriweather is not going to be a SS in the NFL, he doesnt have the build to play on the strong side game in and game out. For stretchs mabey, but long term, I doubt it. I think he is going to be a FS. Griffen , from what Ive heard from Texas fans can play the strong side.
