excerpt:
Of all the remarks made by Andy Reid since the end of last season, none has drawn more attention than the Eagles coach's statement that the team will run the ball this season.
It's become almost a league-wide joke that the Eagles are a team that will not keep the ball on the ground. Reid has seldom met a third-and-1 situation that he didn't feel called for a long, risky pass.
But, as the Eagles prepare to welcome their rookies and selected veterans to training camp at Lehigh University on Thursday, Reid and his staff continue to say they are designing an offense that will run the football.
"We always emphasize the running game," said offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, when asked to outline the Eagles plans for the coming camp.
