Bunkley still not signed.
This does not look good for Bunkley being able to help out this year. What I'm to understand is that the Eagles want him to sign a 6 year deal and he only wants to sign a 5. He wants to be able to test FA sooner.

If recent history repeats itself, this is an ominous situation for Bunkley and the Eagles, who had hoped to receive a major contribution from their first-round pick this season. Defensive coordinator Jim Johnson addressed the rookie's absence after the team's morning practice, saying that Bunkley has already missed a lot.
Since 2001, there have been 11 rookie defensive tackles that were unsigned and missed time in training camp. In the majority of those cases, the players struggled during their first seasons; in many cases, the players continued to struggle beyond their first year.

if history is to repeat itself then this does not look very good for the Eagles.

Camps basically just started this week anyhow..it would have been nice to have him in early but I think he will be in either right before or right after Sunday. This is something both sides need and eventually he will get in and get some work.

In simon's rookie year, he held out most of camp and still started in game 1

And where is he now. A hold out like this can cause bad blood between the players and front office that might never go away. The Eagles are getting to be know as a team that does not always treat there players the right way.

where do you get that from, if you perform and do your job well then you are rewarded for that, nice editing of my post, but you forgot to add that they are offering bunkley more than wimbley got and he was picked ahead of him. Also, the players that they have let go all turned out to be pretty much done. Name one player other than who I will say that has had success after the eagles under andy reid has let them go. Simon was alright last year and vincent is average in buffalo and can't even play corner anymore. They just know how to evaluate players.

Simons was let go very late into the season many people felt the Eagles did that to hurt his chances of getting on with another team. Not every player thought that TO was in the wrong when dealing with the club. The Eagles have shown a good eye for dropping players when ever they have outlived their usefullness and have done a good job of already having someone waiting in the wings. But this can cause the players to look at thing differently, instead of seeing a team doing what it can to extend its window for a championship and them being a part of it they might see themselves as a replaceable piece that should do whatever it takes to get everything they can from the team before they get thrown out the door.

if you play at the top level you will get rewarded, just ask trotter. They didn't let him go, they were negotiatiing with simon last year and he wanted outlandish money. He was then granted his release upon the fact that niether side could get that deal done. It was best for both parties.

It was late in the pre-season first off and they let him go because after playing the previous season at 295 he decides to show up to sign his tender at 350 pounds a week before the season started. Don't get him twisted up with T.O., Simon was fat and out of shape and got paid the biggest deal of any DT in the NFL, go figure.
