O'Callaghan to the Patriots at 137--good pick for them, would have been potentially lost in the shuffle here. Sorry ILF.
I know... Im sitting here at home, crying into my cereal. I really wanted him.

Can Avant come in and play a big part in our receiving game? Maybe even take the #2 or #3 job?
I don't know if he can be a #2 or #3. I think he really needs to compete to get there, and for the most part, Reggie Brown is penciled in as the X, Todd Pinkston as the Z, and Gaffney as the Y (slot guy), with Greg Lewis for depth. Avant could get into that mix.

lol, I just read that the Jets told Gocong they would take him in the 3rd round. They traded down from 71 to 76 with us thinking they could still get him there and then we took him. I would've loved to be in the Jets war room when that happened.

This team has addressed all it's needs, and if a player like Jeremy Bloom falls to us in round 5, we will have addresses everything.

I think if Bloom's there at 147 or 168, I think he is the guy to take to finish off the "needs" department. He replaces JR Reed, gives you MORE depth at WR, and eliminates Reno Mahe for you. Addition by subtraction, and face it--Bloom is ELECTRIC with the ball and can do more for you than Mahe, plus he could allow the team to keep a guy like Bruce Perry.

Folks, not to overdramatize here, but we are major NFC Championship contenders right now.

OUTSTANDING PICK. Replaces JR Reed, allows us to ditch Mahe and provides additional depth at WR.

Now, a caller has mentioned AJ Nicholson for the last fifth rounder. 2nd round talent, 10th round head. A real character issue, but the guy has talent. I don't think they take him, but anything's possible.

AJ Nicholson is definitely not an Andy Reid guy. I would highly doubt that but with the way this draft is going im not predicting anything.

Not only that but I definately feel he can be a valued 3rd WR within a year or two. He's got the attitude, big play ability and the heart of a olympian. Excellent, excellent pick by the Eagles.
