thats just weird for me to imagine. it's looking like he and carr got the same ****ing contract, something like a week apart from each other? the first and third picks in the 2002 draft, the first QBs taken?

the connection is a bit eerie to me for some reason.

That's something only someone who's been dabbling in the "fire" would be thinking about.

i guess you're right in a way, but honestly, who would have predicted that both david carr and joey harrington, two of the top three overall picks in the whole entire ****ing draft in 2002, would be signing 2 year 6 million dollar deals with the panthers and falcons respectively in april of 2007 to serve as backups, within a week of each other?

it's just "whodathunkit?" type ****. and i still havent slept, although im finally starting to get tired. the whole being delirious thing has made for a crazy day though, i haven't stopped talking today.

great move. harrington may not be a star, but he's more than a good backup. i anticipate this is a resume-builder before he hits the FA market in two years. he and carr saw the same thing: opportunities on decent teams with plenty of weapons where backups get shots during the season as the starters go down with injury.

Does ESPN even have editors? Do football 'experts' just not remember that Harrington was not the number 1 pick in 2002?

Anyway, Harrington should be a fine backup for the Falcons. He was actually much better in Miami than his stats indicate.

Before joining Miami, Harrington played four seasons with Detroit. The former University of Oregon standout was the third overall pick of the Lions in the 2002 NFL draft.

I assume they meant first rounder, not first overall.

I disagree. I think he's a very good option for the team, and to be honest, I was hoping the Vikes would look at him. He had a few good games in Miami last year, but he also had a few bad ones. Their running game wasn't very good, and relying on any QB whose name isn't Favre, Elway, or Marino to throw a ton of times isn't a good idea if you want to win games.

Harrington will get in sometime this season, he may look mediocre, but someone will definitely want him come FA signing in 2 years. ATL has a great running scheme, and that's gonna take pressure off of him when he's in. He's got better accuracy than Vick, I think most can agree with that... maybe... I dunno.

I think the Dolphins kept the wrong QB, really. With Ricky Williams coming back (i know he's not what he used to be, but he'll make a difference) and with more balance with the run, I think Joseph would have done just fine.

Just my 2 rusty Lincolns.
