He can't run anymore, just can't run.

This cut sucks but Trotter is done. I admire the man for playing as long as he did with his knees in their current shape.

to Trot

I know Gaither was looking really good and all, but i definately didnt see this coming. I would have preferred to keep Trotter, even if he was a 1st down LB. At 260 pounds, he's better at stuffing the run than Gaither is, but Gaither has the speed to drop in coverage and make plays outside the tackles.

I truly wish him the best. He's one of my favorite Eagles of all time but over the past 9 years, I've learned to trust Heckert and Reid when it comes to releasing veterans.

This really changes our LB corp though. Who is the backup MLB? Is it Bradley? I know he's done well so far in the preseason. Maybe its Roper but he's been hurt. This definately gives Akeem Jordan a shot at a roster spot. I see our LB corp now being Gocong, Spikes, Gaither, Bradley, Mccoy, Daniels, Roper.

Good luck Trotter. I only wish you'd been able to get a ring before this happened.

I think Bradley's excellent play in ALL the LB positions, especially in the middle, allowed Trotter to be released.

I will miss him, but after watching him in the Saints game, i know it was something that had to be done.

I admire the Eagles for one thing, they know when vets are done. Hugh Douglas and Corey Simon are great examples of the Eagles knowing when they have got the most they could possibly get out of a player.

don't forget troy vincent.. bobby taylor. the only time i can say they got a decision wrong, was derrick burgess, and even then they didn't really get it wrong because oakland's offer was so outrageous (at the time)
