Default Eagles interested in Vandy's WR Bennett, asked for a personal workout

When the NFL draft commences at the end of next month, remember the name Earl Bennett. He is a wide receiver from Vanderbilt who is projected to be taken in the second round, and the Eagles are interested enough in him that, according to a league source, they have asked for a personal workout today the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Bennett, 6 feet and 209 pounds, was a three-time all-Southeastern Conference selection and decided to enter the draft after his junior season at Vanderbilt. He led the Commodores in receiving during each of his three seasons, including his freshman year, when Denver's Jay Cutler was his quarterback.

Bennett, who ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash at the scouting combine in Indianapolis, caught 75 passes for 830 yards and five touchdowns last season. His 236 career receptions are an SEC record.

I wonder if that personal workout will be with McNabb. I would like a taller receiver. There would have to be few WR's taken ahead of him for me to be totally cool with this

Not a bad WR. Late second would be OK to get him depending on who was taken already. Third round would be even better. Has limited upside in that he more than likely not a #1 WR but more a 2 or 3.

If that's true, I'd rather not have him at all, I'd rather we draft a guy who will be a #1 WR. We already have too many 2s and 3s.

He probably wont be the answer for our #1 receiver slot. We dont need another reggie brown we have to many #2s.
