Here are some of the players that may be a bit down the depth chart that could emerge in 2008

Offence-

WR- Hank Baskett. Hank is one of two high talented but raw former UDFA WR in the NFC East. A big WR who has shown big play ability in the past, if he has done enough work on his game this offseason, he could challenge for a spot as a #3, or mabey even replacing Brown

TE- Brent Celek. Celek showed his rookie year that he can be a quality TE. I dont see Smith doing much this year. I see Celek playing ahead of Smith by week 6

Defence-

DE- Victor Abiamiri. Im telling you as a ND fan. This guy is gonna be a stud. I dont know if he is starter ready yet, but at the least this guy can make some noise off the bench

LB- Stewart Bradley and Akeem Jordan. Bradley is a key guy if the Eagles want to run some 3-4 set's. He would be great manning the Mike position with Gaither the Joker. That may have to be his niche, I dont think he is a weakside guy in a 4-3, he may have to be Gocongs backup at strongside. Jordan seems to be the best fit at Will unless they give Boiman a shot

I like Celek, wished we just let Smith go...Total waste of money. Can't wait til I see this year's LB corps either.

I agree with Abiamiri, but I would hardly call him a darkhorse anymore. A darkhorse for me would be Pago Togafau. He is a special teams guy that has power and is smart and runs well. The Eagles liked Togafau enough after seeing him on tape last year in the preseason to claim him off of waivers and keep him around for the entire season, which says they think he has some ability. It is not the easiest thing to come into Jim Johnson's defense so this year he will have a better handle on things

I dont see Bradley starting, unless they move Gaither to the weakside

He may not start, but when the EAGLES are in 3-4 mode he will surely be out there in the middle.

Thats where I see him contributing. probobly be him and Gaither inside, with Gocong or Abiamiri and Cole at OLB
