MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes was arrested for disorderly conduct at a hotel in South Beach, police said Saturday.

Holmes was arrested Friday night. He was released from jail after he signed a promissory note to appear in court to be arraigned, Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said.

The events leading to Holmes' arrest weren't released by police.

Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett said he didn't know about the arrest and couldn't immediately comment on it. Holmes was the Steelers' first-round pick in April out of Ohio State.

Unless he's missing playing time, no big deal. Disorderly conduct in Miami Beach isn't a bad thing, it's celebrating too much and getting caught.

If you're saying he'll miss playtime, how do you figure? Disoderly conduct is pretty much just a fine, community service, or probation so it's not like he'll go to jail. The media always blows up these athletes getting into a little trouble. The only way he'll miss playing time is if the Steelers decide to punish him, which if anything they'd just fine him.

anyways they won't release him, he isn't in any real trouble and will probably only get a slap on the wrist.
