Steelers boot punter Gardocki

The Steelers waited almost a month to make official what became clear on the second day of the NFL draft: Chris Gardocki is no longer their punter.
The team released the 37-year-old on Wednesday, all but assuring rookie Daniel Sepulveda will be the team's punter next season.

Gardocki, a 16-year veteran, had been the Steelers' punter since the 2004 season.

He has never had a punt blocked in 1,177 attempts, which is an NFL record, but Gardocki's play slipped last season.
