Thanks Jayme That's what I was looking for. Hey the mods are gonna get us for being off topic while they're sleeping. LOL But it's been fun. I have to go shortly. I'll be back next week.

The refs "took over" the Colts game, but the Steelers "dominated" the Superbowl? When you make such blatant homer statements, it tends to invalidate all your other points.

The Steelers aren't favorites for next simply because of the way the Super Bowl was played out. Like it or not that game will be forever remembered for all of the calls made in it. The general idea among most football fans is that the Steelers shouldn't have won that game and add that to the list of players that departed in the off season leads to no one expecting a repeat.
Me personally I think they do have a shot, I wouldn't count them out. However its far too early to tell with how competitive the AFC will be this year.

I just wanted to quote that because a Steeler's fan complaining about the refs made me chuckle

Thank you for saving me the trouble of saying that myself...

Good points Matt.I mentioned before in another thread that everybody outside of Pittsburgh or whoever isn't a steelers fan will always say that the refs were very much involved in the outcome of the SB. Which really s**ks because the steelers have always been a classy organization.

I didn't say the Steelers dominated the Superbowl. It was clear who the better team was, and that was the Steelers, but it was far from dominance. If Big Ben had shown up like he had for the rest of the playoffs it would've been domination and a blowout, but that's not what happened, and I never said it was. And YES, the refs did take over the Colts game.

"and then beat the #1 seed from the NFC in the SuperBowl, and it wasn't even a close game." - Jayme96
Seems like you`re saying they dominated the Seahawks to me. Please tell us how the refs "took over" the Championship game. In your original post, you give the Seahawks no credit at all. Maybe they had a little something to do with Ben`s "bad game". Personally, I like the Steelers, but your post was way too biased.

I'd say that 21-10 is not too close of a game, would you? 3 points, or even 7 is a pretty close game, but when the other team would have to score 2 TDs, or 1 TD and 2 FGs that's not close. I honestly don't think the Seahawks did anything to make Ben play bad...he just choked. He was making very bad throws to guys that were basically wide open, with minimal pressure on him....it wasn't the Hawks' D that caused that, it was him just playing like crap to put it mildly. The Seahawks shot themselves in the foot with penalties (like it or not) and dropped passes, whereas Big Ben shot the Steelers in the foot with bad play though he did partially make up for it by converting on a few big plays on scoring drives. You can view it however you wish, I don't really care if I come across as biased. As for the AFCC, they overturned a sure INT, and even did so on the challenge, that's a possible 14 point differential and a guaranteed 7 point difference, and there were other calls just as bad. I'd have to rewatch the game, it's been too long ago now.

Like I said earlier...when you make blatant homer statements, it is hard to take anything you say seriously. I find it funny, that you can complain about the refs in the Colts game, and then discount the many bad calls in the SuperBowl. You give the Seahawks absolutely no credit, then come on here and complain that no one wants to give your Steelers any credit. You can`t have it both ways. Oh wait, yes you can...you`re a homer.
