I think porter is a big part and he will resign, mabey only one or two year deals, but keep in mind the steelers have alot of cap space and porter is one of the best and he is a team leader, if he were looking for a huge payday no one will give him that. And i think Farrior will take a paycut like jeff harting did to stay with the team. James Harrison is a very athletic LB who is making a name for himself and will get more playing time, and the guy who filled in for Farrior is solid at MLB and he will get some time as well, i cant remember his name it starts with a K?
I really like porter, hes outspoken and brings energy to the defense and i hope they keep him.
Porter is a stud, I don't like his mouth though...some people like it, I am a fan of the more mild mannered, quite guy like Troy. He's very valuable to this team, but I just don't know what to expect....they usually let linebackers go at that stage, but we also usually have better guys being groomed to take their spot than we do now. If Bell hadn't gotten hurt we'd be set at MLB, and the OLBs they've taken haven't panned out well. BTW, ages of our Linebackers during this coming season: Porter 29 till March, Haggans 30 in January, Farrior 32 in January, Foote just turned 26 in June. Harrison turned 28 in May, and Kriewaldt will be 31 in March. Those last 2 are pretty old to be considered the successors to the starters.
The Steelers are close to the cap too btw, they don't have a lot of cap room at all from what I've heard.
Well harrison still got some time and he really looks good in camp, i didnt relize Kriewalt was that old, Farrior i know is getting up there, but he still produces. The thing that i like about porter is the energy that he brings, sure he talks alot to the other team, but its good to have someone to get the team fired up, hes actually a nice guy ive met him a couple of times. Foote and Haggans are so underrated for what they do for the defense, but i wouldnt be surprised if the look to the draft for a linebacker this year, although i see this group or most of this group being here for another year.
-Whos the beast of a linebacker from Penn State that reurned to school this year i cant remember his name.
Paul Posluszny is the guy you're thinking of. He's supposed to be an all time stud, and I would KILL to have him play in black and gold in '07.
I didn't realize that Kriewaldt and Harrison, or even Haggans were as old as they are till I started looking into the LB situation more closely prior to this last draft. It is NOT a good long term situation at LB, especially with everyone switching to the 3-4. It'll be a lot harder to find our later round stud LBs as we always have now. We'll have to start using some of our high picks on LBs instead of the line or DBs like we usually do. At least for the most part, most positions are set with young guys, and with our coaches there to keep developing the talent, it looks like we could be at the beginning of a potential dynasty if things go as planned.

Posluszny might not be the "find" your'e hopin for, word around here is he is still having problems with his knee and the rehab.
Ah, I hadn't heard anything about that. I'm also kinda thinking that D'Andrea from Ohio State might be worth looking at in the later rounds. He's got loads of ability but is hurt a lot.
yea i agree. hes almost the total opposite of sean taylor attitude wise
Yeah, they're definitely nothing alike personality-wise. Not too many elite athletes that are that rich as well, are anywhere near as nice as him. (I've never met him, but just going by what I've gathered)
