things can always change if what Tomlin says about open competition is true but it gives you some idea of what the people in house think of him right now.

I like that line. Although I believe Colon either puhses Starks, or starts over him. There is no more of the trusted vets status on this team. Two years ago, this line was giving Ben plenty of time and Willie plenty of running room. I know Hartings won't be at C, but I feel Simmons can be a very good replacement if given the opportunity. Putting Kemo in on a regular basis is a definate upgrade in the G position and with him and Simmons side by side, I really like right side of that line.
Look for the Steeler line to be getting a lot of talk about mid-season.
I hope I'm right.

Why would Kendoll Simmons not get ***** slapped by Jamal Williams the way he and Hartings did?
Better knees, or the help of Kemo?

I really hope Colon(what a last name) and Essex(in my town, that name is a street for crackheads lol) aren't just more of Grimm's duds he was enamored with. If Simmons could be a good center,it would solve a lot of problems. Okobi has played well in spot duty,so he could be a stop-gap. I don't expect much from Phillip. Its looking more and more like Kalil would be a great fit though.
Y'know Smith gets a lot of flack for strugging against speed rushers and rightfully so but he's not easily replaceable yet. The FO sees an upside with Starks. I hope he does improve.Kemo is a bright spot and i'm pulling for him to be the starter at RG.Continuity is overrated at times or at least i'm believing that according to some teams OL situations improving with new players starting.
Smith struggles around speed rushers, is lazy on the run/doesn't get to the next level, quits on his blocks too early. He just doesn't play with any intensity.

ANALYSIS
Positives: Wide-body type with above average balance, agility and foot speed … Plays with toughness and intensity … Very quick off the snap, showing the lateral agility needed for traps and pulls … Gets to the cutoff point instantly and shows proper leg base to prevent from being knocked off stride … Fights and competes to stay with his blocks, displaying good leg drive and explosion at the point of attack … Has the upper body power to out-muscle defenders … Shows good pass set to anchor and sustain … Reacts quickly to stunts and is very effective delivering the inline cut blocks … Walls off and takes up space, using his upper body power to clear rush lanes … Always looking for another defender to hit after his initial block … Drives with his legs and gets sufficient surge on down blocks … Does a nice job of locating his targets on the move.
Negatives: Needs to work on his pass protection technique, as he does not play at a low enough pad level, causing him to lunge and overextend to compensate … On the ground too much and fails to follow up his blocks on his feet … Struggles vs. the power rush, as defenders can get underneath and swim past on the surge … Catches too often rather than delivering a strong hand punch in his pass set … Displays a good leg base and knee bend, but needs to square up in his blocks more consistently … A little stiff and tends to turn his shoulders and open his hips too quickly, allowing penetration … Has just an average anchor in his base and seems to hesitate moving his feet when having to switch on stunts or pick up the blitz … His lack of explosion as a drive blocker forces him to compensate by using his upper body strength to maul.
CAREER NOTES
Two-year starter who has been very effective creating rush lanes for the ground attack … Lined up at left guard in his last 23 games … A tireless worker who loves the game, he takes great pride in the fact than more than 70 percent of the team's rushing touchdowns have come over the left side of the line.[/b]

Yeah because Jamal Williams doesn't do that to anyone else.
I saw Casey Hampton kick the living hell out of Jeff Saturday in that playoff game a year ago. Is Saturday not a good C?
Just because you struggle with a certain player doesn't mean you, overall, can't play the position.
[/b]
Is saw Hartings & Kendoll, together/at the same time, failing to stop Jamal Williams
**** Jamal Williams, I have seen Kendoll, numerous times, whiffing and being utterly worthless.
He cannot play a full game, and he should not be a starter. Relief/rotation duty only.
His conditioning sucks, and he should not be penciled in at any starting position.
The only bigger piece of **** on our roster is/was Barret Brooks.
