I don't trust Duce to not be injured from yesterday's festivities already. But to cut him would incur the wrath of the cap.

Hope won't be resigned. I like Carter stepping in for him on a temporary basis but I agree that a FS needs to be picked up in day 1. More reason to trade out of the first and pick up more picks. There's a lot of little nagger positions we need to fill. I mean nothing that's in absolutely dire straits but definitely stuff we need to try and keep on top of.

Speaking of Essex, do you think he could ever play LT? I about had it with Marvel Smith midway through the SB. I don't know how you can continue to back him as a starting LT. I know he gets all the pro bowls and you say he's above average but I don't see it. I mean talent wise he might have it but the guy has no ****ing motor whatsoever. Its really just depressing to watch, I know part of it is me just having it out for the guy since that New Orleans game, I can't stand to watch him though. Just seeing the ****er's face on tv makes that vein in my forehead pulse.

You do not want Ricky Williams on this team. The reason Ricky is happy now is that he's not the guy, Ronnie is. He's not being asked to tote the ball 20+ times a game every game. Which would be the case if we went out and got him. Its just not a good fit. Like I said, Saban and Ricky have a good thing going now. Ricky's happy being the come off the bench guy. Saban's got a good back up RB with a really really really cap friendly contract. Everyone wins.

Literally.

I'm not sure about the cap room but I read an article today that we would be right up against the $95 mil.

Oh absolutely. I think he's definitely got the feet for it and he has a good initial punch. If he gets in a little better shape and adds some strength I think he'll be an above average LT.

Yes I think Marvel is above average but it's not like he's Ogden (a few years ago) or Walter Jones. I believe his contract takes a huge upswing very soon so if Essex comes along this could possibly be his last year in B&G. Which I'm sure will please you.

Carter could be a stopgap at FS but you're right. We'll need someone else. Allen or Landry maybe.

I have no problem with us trading down from #32 (unless of course someone we can't refuse is there). You're right. No major wholes but plenty of "spots" to fill in at. You can always get better. Plus with El leaving (likely) we'll need some other sort of WR too.

To bad Fred Gibson was such a turd.
