Too many people are willing to put Woodson in the same category as Blount, but they were very different players.
Blount was the best combination of technical skills and physical gifts I have ever seen.
Woodson was just a great athlete who also played DB.

Gottcha. I just wanted to see if the impression was there that Ike is that good. I think some of these guys on the Trib board are already considering him some kind of CB god. Being someone who had the opertunity to watch both Blount and Woodson play, I can honestly say I don't see that level of play from Ike yet. He does have the potential IMO, but I am not willing to treat him like one of those guys until he ahs earned it.

I agree. If I had the choice to bring either one back in their prime it would be Blount hands down. He was perfection at the position IMHO.

Yeah they get a little carried away over there sometimes. He's no where near that level. Although I think he's athletic enough to be a similar version of Woodson at some point if he keeps working. Actually a better comparison might be Chad Scott pre-kneee injury but with more speed.
B-Mac reminds me of DeWayne Washington before he lost his speed. DW was a solid CB when he first got here.
Actually Coke kind of reminds me of Dwayne Woodruff.

I think Ike can exceed Woodson in one area: The ability to recover when burned

Cowher was driving very conservatively, and it was easy to predict how he was planning on getting to the stadium.
It seemed as if he was driving not to crash and relying on his tires to pound their way down the asphalt about 3 yards at a time.
Ben was on the DAn patrick show earlier today. I did'nt get the chance to listen to it, but over on the Trib board a poster wrote this:
Fun interview is about all you can say.
Ben admits he is very superstitious. If they need a run like this year and start winning he will do what he did last year.
If he has not shave he will not shave
He goes to the same restaurants on the same nights
He orders the same food each time
Does everything he did the week before.
I guess whatever works for Ben, works for Ben. It was funny because Dan asked him what Cowher thinks of this, and he said he does not talk to the coach about it.
Also was asked about the TD he scored and Dan said several times that he did not score. Ben laughed it off each time. The final humourous rebuttal was that in the records it says Ben Roth scored a TD in SB XL, and Dan said, thats more than I can say for me.
Dan also asked about Seahawk fans. Ben said he has seen them, but they just chant, Go Hawks. Dan asked if any complain about the Officiating and Ben said flat out No.
Lastly Ben was asked about what input he has in the Draft and FA. He says he may talk to Cowher or Mr. Rooney, but very briefly. He figures they will listen more in the future when he has more seniority.
The last part is interesting, he probably was trying to convince them about drafting Nance.

Ike is very physically similar to Blount. I'd love to see him develop to where Blount did, but that's hard to bank on.

If they want to give our franchise QB all the best weapons like they've talked about, Nance seems like the logical choice.
Or maybe even go for broke and pick up Javon Walker and have one of the best WR combo's in the league for the here and now? It doesn't seem likely, but anything going on there?
