I was thinking the same, but you got to put into account that

1. He's already won a superbowl
2. The team has loads of talent around him, making his job a lot easier
3. He had a career year this past year, and with his team getting better and better it looks like he could make it to another SB soon enough.

Ben Roethlisberger may have done some stupid things away from football, but he has truly proven himself as a quarterback with the Steelers.

An eight year, $102 million contract is a lot, but earning an average of $12.75 million a year is something Big Ben has earned.
