The Steelers opened themselves up to criticism during the 2007 NFL draft when they traded up in the fourth round to take a punter.
Now it looks like the punter they drafted may have been damaged goods.
Daniel Sepulveda tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, and the second-year man will likely miss the upcoming season.
Sepulveda held out hope of avoiding surgery even after learning the extent of his injury. But Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Sepulveda will get the knee on his non-kicking leg "repaired."
