Walters is a scrub says who? The guy was a 1st round caliber QB until his shoulder injury. Brooks is a fantasy football QB and thats about it.

Thomas Howard will probably start on the weakside for the Raiders.

So on paper-I can see about 5 to 6 wins-a lot depending on whether Andrew Walters hurries up and takes the starting job from Brooks or not.

They have a solid front 7-with 2 good young LBers. Their secondary is not so good, but is young and can improve. The OL should be better then how it has been playing.
I totally agree with you on all accounts. Aaron Brooks will hold them back a lot IMO and they should just turn to Walters and use Brooks as a security blanket. I see about 5-6 wins and the division is a major reason, although I think they had one of the better drafts this year the D will be stronger in '07 then '06.

If the Raiders can finish the season 8-8, I will be happy. Obviously that is not what I want for the following seasons, but a record like that is a huge improvement from the last 3 seasons. When Gruden joined the Raiders, that was his record his first year, and look what happened afterward. One step at a time Raider Nation, one step at a time.
