Default The Difinitive Great Player Thread

As of 8:18 pm central time there were 14 names nominated on the Greatest Player Poll thread. Lets vote on the first seven, then the last half. And at the end we will take the winners from both Polls and they will duke it out in the final round to see who will be the Football Forum Champion.

Thanks to Jayhawk_Colin aka Padre for the idea.

it is hard enought to say the best player ever in the nfl, but if you reduce it to these 7 and say who is the best of these 7, it has got to be rice. he is to football what gretzky was to hockey.

I have to give it to Jim Brown one more time. The guy could`ve played in any era. He was big, fast, elusive, powerful. he had the lowest center of gravity I`ve ever seen...freaky stuff! The closest I`ve ever seen to him, was Bo Jackson, but he didn`t last as long. If Walter Payton and Earl Campbell had a baby, he would play like Jim Brown. The guy never missed a game, and led the league in rushing every year! he also averaged 5.4 yards per carry for his entire career. He was also the only weapon on his team, so every defense was keyed to stop him. For me, it`s Jim Brown.

I'd say Mr. Rice, which is part of the reason Montana is in this poll
