Hey guys. I am afraid I've become as obsessed over expansion ideas as Manster is with the draft. I've thought of a way to keep teams even, add a bunch of new teams without moving current ones, and still keep the current 16-game schedule. Laugh at me if you will, but if you think it's a good idea say so too.
The plan is to add a total of eight new teams. Both conferences will gain a new "Central" division. This will allow teams and divisions to remain even. The current schedule of 6 division and 10 nondivision games would remain in place, because there would still be 4 teams per division. The teams would be strategically placed in high-market areas that have successful college teams, but no NFL team, the plan being to give fans of the sport a higher-profile way to watch it. They are also placed in a way that will create rivalries between new teams and existing teams, because rivalries help to generate team spirit and sell tickets and merchandise. The new divisions are listed below, along with some team names that came to mind. For those of you who can't tell, new expansion teams will be listed in
bold.

East: Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets
North: Buffalo Bills, Cincinatti Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers

Again, tell me what you think, even if it involves laughing. Don't tell me I have too much time on my hands though. I already know that.
