Default NFL Expansion?

Hi.
I am wondering if anyone on here knows about any upcoming expansion plans for the NFL. I always think we could use more teams, it creates rivalries and makes the game more exciting. Portland, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and San Antonio all look promising to me, what do you guys think?

This is all stuff I heard on the radio. If the NFL forces Benson to sell part of the sell would be that Benson would be able to be part of any new team in LA.

As far as San Antonio there was a guy here that was part of the AFL and he said that Jerry Jones ownes the expansion right to all the citites in Texas except houston.

I do not like having an odd # of teams but I think teams like the Jags and Cards, who are not doing well in their towns might make a move before expansion.

Interesting topic guys. I am also always in favor of expansion, I believe every major city in the US deserves its own NFL team. I have a few questions for Manster though. In regard to Jerry Jones, does the NFL allow you to own more than one team? and also, since it is looking more and more like the Saints will move (although I hope they don't) is LA the expected new home?

As far as the Cardinals are concerned, I expect they will stay where they are, they are now in the process of building a new stadium that includes a mall and two major restaurants. It's just a shame they couldn't spend the money on actual decent players instead of a new venue

No the NFL will not let you own more than one team and they dont like people who own a team in other games, NBA or MLB. He ownes the right to those cities the own of the AFL team in Austin had to pay him to get a team there. The NFL does allow NFL owners to own more than one AFL team.

This is a very interesting topic, but I am not in favor of expansion. Moving is a different story, however I don't think an odd number of teams would be good, but then if you added two teams, 34 would be a lot. The talent level in the NFL has dropped with the expansion teams being added, and it will only continue to if more teams are added. Living in Connecticut, I guess I am a bit spoiled with the Giants, Jets, and Patriots all within a short driving distance, but I think in most cases, the cities without NFL teams currently, are not as much of a "football town" as the ones who have it. I know this is a broad generalization, but it has proven to be true over the years, with lack of support of certain teams in these cities.

normally i would be in favor of adding new teams to any sport, but the NFL does not need any. your right on with the talent level dropping and football is not the same as basketball were you can win with just a few stars. no new teams for me.

The Cardinals won't be going anywhere for a long while, which is actually a good thing.

I could see the NFL moving teams such as the Saints but I can't see them adding anymore NFL teams.

The NFL is large enough as it is, and adding more teams would change the playoff format a great deal. That could cause some massive headaches.

Places I could see taking on football teams though could be: Mexico (I could actually see a team in Mexico. With the turnout for the Cards/49ers game it's worth considering) and Los Angeles.

There are always going to be cities that want a team, especially LA. They are still bitter over the Raiders leaving. There was some talk a while back about moving the Chargers up to LA, but nobody wants to give up a team. I think expansion could work in a big market, but I'm happy with the current setup. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I have actually heard that the NFL might be interested in moving up North to Canada. I think it would be a great idea to have some Canadian cities involved in the NFL. I live up in Canada and going to an NFL game is too hard for me so it would be great for them to expand here as interest in football is getting quite high.

Default No way

I say no to expansion! I say yes to moving, if you don't have the support you need go where you will be appreciated. As far as Canada or Mexico goes the NFL will never do that imagine having to rename the national football league to the international football league it aint gonna happen.
