Just at the end of last season I think I finally started figuring out the way the bookie system worked and now I'm not so sure again.

Dallas -4 or at Miami +4 What one do I bet to support my guys?

Dallas -4 (right) which means what? I get paid even if they lose by one?

Dallas - 4 means that if you bet on Dallas, they have to win by 4 or more. We are paying out ties this year.

So the -4 automatically gives Miami four points. Just like Miami +4 automatically gives miami 4 points


Basically the score right now is 4-0 Miami.

So If Dallas wins 25-20, then you would add the 4 points that Miami is getting from the spread and Dallas would cover.

I remember last Season, I bet 2,000 once for Dallas to win and didn't quite understand the betting thing and got waxed bcuz I actually bet on the other team by mistake. oops ! Someone suggested asking for a refund and my reply to that was, Are you serious, doesn't work like that in the real world so why should it here?
