Default Carolina vs Atlanta Discussion

Falcons need to get the ball rolling, but Carolina has a D that could shut them down.

With the potential that Carolina has had in the past couple of seasons since the SB loss, they've been hugely dissapointing, and this game won't be of much interest except to fans of those two teams. Steve Smith might need to start looking for a team that can bring him a ring.

As far as the ATL is concerned... might be time to start looking forward to the 2008 Braves... there isn't much to watch here but a trainwreck.

Yes Carolina has been a definite disappointment, they have playmakers on the offense to get the job done, and a defense to hold most offenses. The Falcons on the other hands seem lost since Vick left which shouldn't be the case, had they not traded Schaub. He knew this offense and did fairly well when playing, Harrington is still learning the offense and with Leftwich right behind there is added pressure for Harrington to do the best he can, which means more forced throws that could lead to interceptions. Either way this is not going to be a great game.

Carolina definitely has the playmakers, but not the execution. Lets see how their recievers play this season behind Smith... if someone like Keary Colbert can get playing time, and do well, who knows what Dwayne Jarrett will able to do once he climbs the depth chart.

Jarrett is third on the the depth chart but I think he can easily move up a spot. He has great ball control, runs excellent patterns and will go up the middle for a catch and take the hit. I think Smith will be burning Hall throughout the game, but they will probably put a spy on him at all times.

Jarrett may be third but has no stats so far this season. I'd like to see what he can do on the pro level against a first team defense, even if it is the Falcons'.

LOL... I think they are saving him for the future. They don't want for him to get battered, and to lose a step or play with fear.

Makes enough sense, but you never know what kind of performance you're going get if he doesn't touch the ball.

Very true I think I would try him out against the Falcons, I mean if they are keying on Steve Smith, Jarrett could be open all game long and put up some good numbers.

Leftwich will not be allowed to play until he gets the feel of the offense. He is not ready to play IMO, but I think he might be ready in week 6. No need to rush him into the game and make him look like a fool.
