Pats Shift Gears
FOXBORO -- On Sunday evening, after New England beat the Jets to advance to the conference semifinals of the AFC playoffs, Heath Evans was asked how long the Patriots would enjoy their opening-round victory before moving on to their next opponent.
The fullback looked up at the digital clock near the locker room exit and said, "It's 5:09 now, so until 5:10."
He was joking, but there was an element of truth to what Evans said. Come yesterday morning, when Bill Belichick met the media at 9 a.m., there was little talk about the win over New York.
As it will be for the entire week, it was all about San Diego.

I want the Bolts to win just as much as any Chargers fan out there. But let's not be cocky here. You have a rookie QB going up against a Bill Belichick defense. Sure the Bolts crushed NE last season, but that doesn't mean a damn thing this season. We see now that Drew Brees is better than even Chargers fans gave him credit for. If the Pats contain LT, can Rivers carry this team to victory? That's the million dollar question.
One thing we do know for sure, this will be the best game of the week.

No, read it again.
Has to do with the fact that a lot of people even TV analysts are looking back to the Chargers sound defeat of the Pats last season as a barometer for a pending outcome to this season's game. There is a huge difference this season........the Charger's QB position. Many fans even Bolts fans thought Brees was a mediocre QB. We now see he's a hell of a lot more than mediocre. Can the Chargers beat the Pats without Brees? He's the big difference between last season's game and this season's game.
