Craig Davis To Be In Reebok NFL Players Rookie Premiere
Chargers first-round draft pick Craig Davis is one of 30 NFL rookies who will take part in the four-day Reebok NFL Players Rookie Premiere this weekend in Los Angeles. The event is presented by EA SPORTS.
“Featuring the top players of the 2007 NFL Rookie Class, the Reebok NFL Players Rookie Premiere presented by EA SPORTS is an exciting event that introduces rookies to PLAYERS INC, the NFL Players Association, and our corporate sponsors and licensees,” PLAYERS INC COO Andrew Feffer said. “It is the only event of its kind and it gives rookies the opportunity to get to know one another before the season begins. This is their debut, and we are thrilled to officially welcome them as professional football players.”
The event kicks off Thursday evening and will include media appearances, a visit to a local hobby shop and an EA SPORTS Rookie Madden Bowl which provides an opportunity for the players to compete against each other in the only licensed NFL video game.
The Rookie Premiere will also give the players their first opportunity to wear the official game jersey of their new team. They’ll head to the LA Coliseum Saturday to take part in a photo shoot with Donruss Playoff, Topps and Upper Deck trading card companies. The photos will appear on their rookie cards. The week’s activities will be filmed for a one-hour television special produced by PLAYERS INC and The NFL Network. The program will air repeatedly on the NFL Network later this summer.
Davis is the lone Charger participating in the event. He’s one of 13 first-round draft picks invited to the event. Those joining Davis in Los Angeles include Oakland’s JaMarcus Russell, Kansas City’s Dwayne Bowe and Washington’s LaRon Landry, the other three LSU players who were selected in the first round of April’s draft.
