Default Same Ole Stuff For Chambers

The only thing that's really different about the circumstance Chris Chambers finds himself in this week is the new uniform and new number thereon.

Having played for only one team in his seven NFL seasons, Chambers nonetheless worked under four head coaches and six offensive coordinators and caught passes from 10 different quarterbacks with the Miami Dolphins.

He actually enters this situation with some advantages he hasn't had in the past.

Norv Turner, the head coach and guy calling the offensive plays for the Chargers, was his offensive coordinator in 2002 and '03 in Miami. And Cam Cameron, the Dolphins' current head coach and offensive coordinator, was running a similar offense there. Cameron, the Chargers' offensive coordinator from 2002 through '06, told Chambers as much as he could about the Chargers before Chambers left South Florida for San Diego.

Chambers, acquired Tuesday from the Dolphins in trade for a second-round pick, arrived at the Chargers facility early yesterday. He met with Turner and receivers coach James Lofton in the morning, then practiced with the team in the afternoon.

“Some of the stuff I've been taught the last training camp, the last offseason, is pretty much the same stuff we do here,” he said, referring to the plays and philosophy installed by Cameron. “A lot of the plays, a lot of the routes, formations . . . . I can pretty much step in the huddle and play a game.”

I think he will be alot happier in San Diego for 3 reasons.

1. He, L.T, and Gate will be best friends takeing pressure off one another.

2. He is playing for a playoff contending team.

3. San Diego has a better QB situation than Miami.

San Diego is a team with potential. The Dolphins have no potential.

If you are traded to a team that is winning or has great potential, you are probably going to be happy going there.
