Default Can The Chargers Pull Off The Greatest Upset In NFL History???

INDIANAPOLIS -- So, what do you think Mr. Stetson Cologne Boy and the rest of the New England Patriots were thinking as they watched Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game?

Dear God, anybody but Baltimore.

The San Diego Chargers? Didn't we already beat them by, like, 100?

We're going to the Super Bowl!

Nothing against the Chargers, who faced every adversity here Sunday except locusts, but beating the one-and-done Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts is several floors down from trying to beat Tom Brady and the undefeated Patriots in the AFC Championship Game ... at Gillette Stadium ... in late January, with forecasters calling for temperatures in the mid-teens, tops.

Still, if the Patriots are smart -- and they are -- they'll understand what happened at the RCA Dome. They'll understand because they know how difficult it is to beat a Tony Dungy-coached and Peyton Manning-quarterbacked team in a place so loud that your ears bleed. They'll also know this isn't the same Chargers team that lost to the Pats by 24 in Foxborough, Mass., nearly four months ago.

"The way we're playing now, nothing can stop us," Chargers defensive end Igor Olshansky said. "The way we overcome adversity and everything else. I guarantee you that [Patriots coach Bill] Belichick and everybody else over there are scratching their heads saying, 'Man, we better get ready.'"

I think they beat them they have a good defense and have some weapons on offense.

the only way i see an upset is if and thats a BIG IF, they can play just like they did against the Colts and limit the big downfield play. tackling is a big MUST cause the Pats love to either go deep of throw a quick pass to Welker which is essentialy a quick toss. Merriman, Phillips, and CO. are going to have to be relentless and come after Brady every play and at the very least get some kind of pressure. the big difference i see between this game and Week 2 is that we have the athlete in Cromartie that can actually stay in Moss' vicinity if they decide to play him man. the secondary is going to have to play big once again in Foxboro. i dont see how people can say that playing the NE offense now is tougher than IND version. that Colt offense have been together for years and have that unmatched chemistry and always have that knack of making something outta nothing. this Pat O have only been together this year. im not saying that they arent any good, im just saying that in the games against the Ravens, Eagles, and Giants when you take Randy Moss away they seem to struggle quite a bit. they still score points but it takes them longer to score, which also gives the D a chance to make a play. if Jay Feeley, Kyle Boller and Eli Manning can put up big numbers against the Pats im confident that Rivers can too (if he plays). the Chargers have been waiting for this game since last years playoffs and well they earned their chance to be here. this isnt a team that just seems content to be here. they are gonna go to NE and give it their best shot, you never know what can happen. it just doesnt seem fair that the media is handing the Pats the Lombardi already and nobody is giving any props to SD for what they did this week in Indy. is their one so called "expert" out there that can actually see the game the way i see it and offer me a glimmer of hope? all i want is someone out there to give Norv Turner and the Chagers some well deserved credit.

Hopefully Rivers will keep his mouth shut this week and not give them any extra motivation, and I don't see them beating the Patriots but anything can happen.

Bad idea for Igor to open his mouth.

I do recognize what the Chargers did, only 1 other team was able to play the COLTS and the REFS and win. It wasn't easy, and I'm sure you were like me and freaking out with those terrible calls. I mean, that was murder. Anyways, it could be a close game, but with LT, Rivers and Gates not at 100%, it is very unlikely.
