Default Chargers 1st Round Outlook

the Chargers have no major holes on the roster. with the 27th overall pick they are one of the few teams that have the luxury of drafting for depth. there are rumors floating around that AJ Smith wants to move up but its unlikely with the Chargers only having 4 draft picks this season. the Chargers have the option of drafting Michael Turners replacement, a cornerback to replace Drayton Florence, or drafting for depth on the defensive line. if a player such has Rashard Mendenhall is there at 27 expect smart money would be that he would be drafted by the Chargers. Justin King is another possibilty at CB as is everyones new favorite CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. they also could look to a player such as Miami's Kenny Phillips to replace the recently released Marlon McCree. with AJ Smith at the helm, we are going to have to wait until the draft to know what direction he wants to head in.

Rashard Mendenhall

The buzz: This rugged junior completed an outstanding 2007 season and is ready to be a workhorse in the NFL. He had a fine overall workout at the Combine.

Calais Campbell

The buzz: Campbell has the size and athletic ability to become an elite NFL defender with some development. He had a good final workout.

Kenny Phillips

The buzz: An athletic junior safety, Phillips is the premier defender in this class with the well-developed skills to be an early NFL starter

http://nfldraft.rivals.com/cviewplay...eport#scouting

Kentwan Balmer

The buzz: Balmer is an athletic interior defender who combines production on the field with impressive workout numbers in the postseason.

Justin King

The buzz: This agile corner is a very good athlete. He should solidify a top-50 grade over the postseason.

http://nfldraft.rivals.com/cviewplay...eport#scouting

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

The buzz: This athletic corner has been a shutdown cover man, but against questionable competition. He faces a critical postseason.

For the Chargers I like Campbell. He will take some time to develope at DE in a 3-4, but he is walking into the perfect system and situation for him. He can start off as a situational pass rusher on there D now. Campbell to me is the absolute rarest of prospects, a 3-4 DE in the Bruce Smith mold that could become a 10 sack a season guy.

Lol. At least they have a Walrus behind the line. The Chargers really have noe flaws.. I think before the decade ends they could go to the SB. But they should probably go RB, especially since that injury to LT.

Dont you mean "dont have" whats with these Patsie fans kissing the chargers *** since last i checked the patsies own the chargers and they both play in the afc. I guess your admitting the patsy ride is over. Yeah the charger window of opportunity is coming to an end they chocked twice against the pats in the playoffs. In the Chargers defense the patriots do cheat.

I see only Calais Campbell being available for you guys at this time. I know you're begging for Cromartie Rodgers is going to be gone. He could very well be the first corner off the board.
