For most part, Chargers off-season has been a yawner
Quote:
If you look at the recent AP 2009 NFL free agent signing list, one thing is rather clear. It has been a slow off-season for the San Diego Chargers.
While priority number one was accomplished in re-signing All-Pro running back LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers have been rather quiet on the free agent market.
That is not to say that bringing in a bunch of free agents would improve this team from last year's mediocre 8-8 performance, but it does lead one to wonder if the team is trying its best to add players where most needed, most notably on the offensive line and in the secondary.
To date, San Diego's only notable free agent signing was linebacker Kevin Burnett (formerly with Dallas) to a two-year deal.
Burnett saw action in all 16 games last season for the Cowboys, making 38 tackles and recording a pair of sacks along the way.
