No, I just hate it when they do this and change their minds four days later to play for another team.
Rice deserves to retire a Niner, and this should've been done a long time ago.

how come you hate it?, just curious personally i like it when that happens when a player plays their majority of their career with one team and breaks all their team records and in rice's case league records they should retire with there respective team specially if your going to canton its a signed of appreciation from the team. Now if you are terrell owens and you try to retire with the niners their going to spit in your face or the eagles for that matter and probably the cowboys.

i guess it's not as bad in this case. But i hated it when Emmitt and Seau did it because they chose to leave the team because they wanted the rushing record or wanted a Super Bowl. They both flopped when they left and then came back to their old team acting like this is where they wanted to be all along. It just drives me crazy.

I am glad that Rice is retiring as a 49er. I cant blame the guy for not giving up the game, that is hard for every player to do. I am glad that he realized the team that was his whole career.

that makes no sense at all, so your saying only Jerry has the right to retire where he wants to?

i really dont mind at all, they can retire wherever they want to, ill always remember Rice as a 49er, Seau as a charger, and emmitt as a cowboy

Jerry is a legend to say the least. An expert at beating the defender and making the clutch catch anywhere on the field. But everybody knows that. I've enjoyed many years watching him play even though he was Da Bears nemesis most of the time. Montana and Rice two of the best there ever was. I don't care if Jerry plays for 5 more teams and changes his mind 10 more times he should always be cherished for what he has accomplished for the sport of football. Some of you guys don't appreciate him because he hasn't done what you want. Well too bad. Get over it. I'll bet every one of you would love to have done exactly what he has.
