San Francisco A-

The trade with New England mortgaged a first-round pick, but San Francisco had an impressive haul: Patrick Willis, Joe Staley, Jason Hill, Darrell Jackson, and Ray McDonald. Wow. All five players should be in the team's starting lineup in 2008.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DHNF @ Apr 30th ) </div>Does ABC have a sporting site? I know about CBSsportline, they basically said the same stuff.

Look, I just have reservations about our season, OK? I did not say the draft was bad. We got potential, but for crying out loud, I don't like it when you parade the team as instant Superbowl. I rather play the game then predict the game. Whether I was right or wrong in what I said in how we did, we basically did it didn't we? I don't say it like a know it all. I say it because the team didn't show me last year they improved. The exhibition was a joke like last year. I want a real exhibition and real progress, no vanilla stuff.

Now, you just said the team has potential. I am just saying HOWEVER. I don't wish the team to be bad, but when you lose, what does it make you?

AZ, I'll get back to you later. I think was draft was good, but not as good as last year.

Then why are you ALREADY saying we're going to lose to Arizona and whoever else you rant about?

USA TOday Sports Weekly
www.usatoday.com

April 25/May 1st edition
NFL Draft Preview
Where will they land?

Here is who we got on the 49ers:
1 11 Willis, Patrick ILB 6-1 240 Mississippi
1 28 Staley, Joe OT 6-5 302 Central Michigan
3 76 Hill, Jason WR 6-0 210 Washington State
3 97 McDonald, Ray DT 6-3 281 Florida
4 104 Moore, Jay DE 6-5 276 Nebraska
4 126 Goldson, Dashon FS 6-2 202 Washington
4 135 Cohen, Joe DT 6-2 313 Florida
5 147 Brown, Tarell CB 5-11 192 Texas
6 186 Clayton, Thomas RB 5-10 218 Kansas State

Here is the breakdown from the Sports Weekly:
Patrick Willis, ILB, number 1 rated
Joe Staley, OT, number 3 rated
Jason Hill, WR, number 10 rated. Least we got a top 10 WR so I'm OK with that. Number 10 is far better then say number 25.
Ray McDonald, listed as a DE, number 6 rated
Jay Moore, DE, number 15 rated
Dashon Goldson, FS Number 10 rated. That's not bad to get him in the 4th. Hope he's good.
Joe Cohen, DT, unknown, unlisted, unrank
Tarell Brown CB, Number 12, runs a 4.45, was supposed to go in 3rd
Clayton Thomas, RB Unrank and unlisted

So...out of the 9 we took, 7 listed, 2 unlisted, 4 in the top 10, 5 below, none of them at number 20.

Now see? I got no problem at all with these picks except for Thomas' character issues.

As for Patrick Willis, can we say goodbye to D SMith. Now, between J Peterson and D SMith, why in the hell did we let Peterson go to Seattle? But now with D Jackson, I consider it payback.

The point here Lloyd.. is that you're not even giving the team time to get to training camp before you call them losers. Why do you even call yourself a fan? We picked up the highest ranked Free Agent this offseason, along with a ton of STARTING caliber players and yet you're talking about the 4-12 season 2 seasons ago.

The team went from 2-14 to 4-12 to 7-9. Thats a remarkable turnaround in a first time head coach's first 2 seasons. Something Raiders, Lions, and Browns fans would absolutely kill for these days.

2 win season, we just beat Arizona
4 win season, we just beat Bucs that didn't play Simeon Rice, the Rams 2 times, and the Texans that clearly ****ed up their number 1 pick.
7 win season, beat a hurt Seattle team, a quitter in Denver, crappy Vikings, Raiders , St. Louis 1, Detroit. Basically, we beat 4 easy teams, 3 questionable.

How is any of this Nolan improvements if we're not beating tough teams? Can you answer why these Ls we get are actual improvements when we haven't beaten anybody? It's fact, you want to improve, you win. That's how Chicago goes to the playoffs. The Saints. The Chiefs. The Chargers. The Cowboys. They won games, and when we can't win games, we can't get to the playoffs. That's just a fact that you don't want to see.
