Nope, I would disagree with you on Smiley, other than that it looks good. We desperately need another CB and LB along with some pass rushers.
You make a good point, many of our losses have been quite pathetic. However, we have beaten Rams when they were playing good football earlier in the year and we did beat the Hawks. Unless we pull of a win against the Seahawks or Broncos our list of quality teams we've beaten is small. Where I do see improvement is obviously in Frank Gore and Lewis/Moore on defense. They've proven to be good players (Lewis/Moore) that I want back next year. I want Moore starting in the middle. The fact that we were in the playoff hunt for even a small amount of time in November speaks for itself compared to last year. Other than your pointless blabbering through half the post you did make some good points.

I never thought I'd be in agreement with somebody from Ninerholics without having them come over to razz me or to team up with DHNF and Steady for a beat session with me. I agree that wins are good, but when you beat an opposition that is clearly below .500, clearly injured, and is saddled in a division that just doesn't want to win like in our divions per say, it's hard to be jumping for joy about it in my opinion. I prefer that big win to come over SEattle, next to I wanted to beat the Eagles, Saints, Packers, Bears, KC, San Diego. To me, beating big teams like that on our schedule is significant improvement. Now next year if this is right, we have to play the NFC South, the AFC North, and if we hold on to 3rd place, we'll get the Eagles in East and Packers in NOrth, but since they're talking that this is Bret's last visit to the Bay Area, that Packer game COULD be at Lambeau. If we can beat New Orleans, Atlanta, Carolina, Baltimore, Bengals, Eagles, Packers, (not necessary all), then that's when we talk p;layoffs. But if we beat none of the big teams, that's why we get records like 5 and 8.
I think Moore and Lawson are set at LB, but we need additional players that can rush the QB. The Dline won't ever work with just B Young doing all the work. We got to really look at our Dline and dump everybody that is not committed to rushing the QB or stopping the run and get some better players for run stoppage and QB blitzing. We need a good Secondary set out there in CB and S. We also need depth because I'm sick of when we get these injuries, bad mentality sets in on this team like I knew without Spencer, then Strickland, we were going to get torched.
It's a little hard for me to tell apart the good 49er fan from the typical ******* 49er fan so that's why I get a bit touchy when DHNF and Steady play mind games.
