According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Falcons vice president Ray Anderson is no longer a candidate for the San Francisco 49ers team president position. On Tuesday, Anderson, who was considered to be one of the finalists for the opening, said that he would remain with the Falcons.

"I talked [Monday] to John York, the 49ers owner, and thanked him for his serious consideration," Anderson said. "We mutually determined that the timing wasn't quite right for what they needed timing-wise and what the Falcons needed timing-wise."

Anderson, who is already involved in planning for the NFL Draft and free agency, felt that he had became too involved in helping shape the Falcons' roster for next season.

Anderson is the lead contract negotiator, salary cap manager and legal administrator for the team.
