I am definately coming around on Smith. I went so far last season as to buy his jersey. I think last season he showed minor success and was asked not to try and do to much. Once teams begin to contain Gore, Nolan is going to ask Smith to lead this team to wins and hopefully he wiill do that.

Hopefully he won't fumble 3 times and throw an interception in a quarter and a half of work.

I'm projecting 3 INT's myself.

God I hope not. I can't take much more of this ****.

On the topic, I like the way the Niners have built over the last few years. Smith looks to be growing into his role well and I'm very interested to see how SF does this year. In fact, they're my pick for the team that will be beaten by the Bears in the NFC championship

I remember being on here during his rookie season, and hearing people dogging him, as a former teammate of his i witnessed his growth first hand while at Utah. Just as in the NFL, he struggled at first but once he got a grasp for the speed of the game and the system, it was over. I'm not saying that he is going to be lights out successful in the NFL, as he was in College, but as i've been saying from the beginning he is going to come around and prove that he belongs in the NFL and that he deserved being picked #1. Not to be an *******, but to all the haters, "I told u so."
[/b]
Was the dude still down to earth when he knew he was going to be drafted pretty high?

That's quite the prediction but I'll take the optimism.
