As Alex Smith goes under the knife--after JC Pearson says he will, Alex says he won't, then he will, there's continued hostility between Smith and Nolan.
Nolan kept saying that Smith was fine when he first came back. Alex claimed he was not fine when he came back. Then Nolan for some reason had issues with Smith's agent for complaining about the rehabiliting process that seemed to have actually torn tendens (bad speller). Alex then claimed he was misdiagnosed by the team's medical staff (not surprising to me since one medical staff let Kitna with a concussion finish a game). Then Nolan leaves cryptic messages that Dilfer may start and he's his QB

and that Smith had his opportunity.
So, which one is not going to come back? Now, if Smith goes and we don't pay his 8 million, I'm hearing it hits our cap hard. But if Nolan gets axed, the 2 years remaining adds to 5 million (not sure on that one). Yet to me personally, when you go from 7 to 3 wins and you don't make changes, I can't see how you can be retained for the job.
Help me out fans.
