Kerry Joseph to represent Western Division at Player Awards
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are proud to announce that Kerry Joseph has been chosen to represent the Western Division for Most Outstanding Player in this year's Rogers Player Awards.
Joseph has had a career season in which he has thrown for almost 4,000 yards and 24 touchdowns, while only giving up eight interceptions. He also leads CFL pivots with 687 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. His 13 rushing TD's are only one off the CFL record set by Doug Flutie in 1991. The second-year Rider also holds one of the highest quarterback efficiency ratings in the league at 98.7.
The last Roughrider to represent the West Division for this award was Corey Holmes in 2005. The last Rider to win it was quarterback Ron Lancaster in 1976.
The 2007 Rogers CFL Player Awards will be announced during Grey Cup week on Thursday, November 22 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. The evening will be produced by Second City as a Tribute to John Candy, and hosted by legendary comedian Dan Aykroyd.
