Weston Dressler Named CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie
The Saskatchewan Roughriders congratulate Weston Dressler, who was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie earlier this evening in Montreal at the Gibson's Finest Player Awards.
Dressler dressed in 15 regular season games this year as a receiver and returner. He led the Riders with 56 catches for 1,128 yards and six touchdowns. He had six games in which he recorded at least 100-yards in receiving. The 23-year old also had 29 kickoff returns for 603 yards and 39 punt returns for 411 yards and was third in the CFL with 2,224 combined yards this season.
Dressler is the first Rider to win this award since Vince Goldsmith in 1981.
Dressler received 37 of 46 first place ballots.
