Update: Burleson has signed an offer sheet with the Seahawks, reportedly a seven-year agreement totaling $49 million, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
Recommendation: Burleson is not without upside, but the Seahawks, seemingly desperate to find Darrell Jackson a sidekick, are evidently willing to overpay to secure his services -- though it's worth noting that only $5.25 million of the deal is guaranteed. The Vikings will have seven days to match the offer to Burleson. If Minnesota doesn't match, they will receive a third-round draft pick as compensation.
Nate is a good reciever. If the Seahawks can get him he should really help. That being said he is not worth 49 mil. This is now two players they have over paid this offseason.
I love it. I would have kept Jurevicius instead of signing Burleson, but it shows that Seattle is dead serious about making another run next year. Yes, they overpaid for Burleson and Peterson both, but they did what it took to sign them and I think it will pay off very well. Seattle now has my pick for the best offseason work so far.
I personally love the 2 posion pills - his contract is guaranteed if he plays 5 games in Minnesota or if his salary is more than the salary of all the RBs on the team combined. Of course, it's still wrong and these kinds of things should not be allowed in the NFL. Otherwise you can say something like "He will get 100 million per year if the name of the team he plays for starts with a V."

actually, doesn't the RB clause says nate's salary has to be more than the AVERAGE of the RB's on the team? and yeah, I think this crap is stupid, too. it's funny, but it'll end up ruining free agency
pumzy, it is the combined salary, that's because nate would be making more than one of the seattle guys but not all of them combined, but he easily makes more than the vikings backs combined.
