Seahawks re-sign Pro Bowl FB Mack Strong
March 24, 2006
KIRKLAND, Washington (Ticker) - Shaun Alexander doesn't have to worry about not having his lead blocker.
The Seattle Seahawks on Friday re-signed Pro Bowl fullback Mack Strong.
Terms were not disclosed.
A 13-year veteran, Strong was selected to his first Pro Bowl last season. He helped pave the way for Alexander, the NFL MVP who won the rushing title with 1,880 yards and set a league record with 28 touchdowns.
Strong, 34, is third in club history with 180 games played, behind only Joe Nash (218) and Steve Largent (200).
The Seahawks on Friday also signed free agent defensive tackle Russell Davis, who spent his previous six seasons with Arizona.
Davis, who turns 31 years old Tuesday, started the first three games last season before being lost for the year with a biceps injury. In 80 career games, Davis has registered 300 tackles and six sacks.
